![]() ![]() But I haven't really gotten a comprehesive understanding of how to use the 670 from these sources, it's like trying to figure out what a person looks like by examining their finger nail clippings. ![]() The Fairchild seems to allow for more control over the sound. Im trying to figure out which would be more worth me spending money on. I've done a lot of google and youtube searching, and I realize that the 670 is different, and have figured out little bits like the time constant is attack and release, the d/c bias control is threshold and compression (or not, I have no idea if I've learned that correctly, or even how those controls can be combined). Thread starter submergency Start date The Grid submergency. Problem is, I am completely turned around by the controls, or rather the lack of controls with names I recognize. I can use those with some varying success, but I would LOVE to use my UAD-1 Fairchild 670 Mono instead. ![]() Hi - I'm pretty much barely beyond newb, and what I know about compressors is based on the "usual" threshold/attack/release/ratio/make up gain controls, like the compressor that comes as part of my Cubase SX3. ![]()
